CCTV Surveys

PDS can deliver complete CCTV survey packages of underground assets such as drains, sewers, manhole chambers and other inaccessible locations. With the use of our sophisticated CCTV survey equipment we can provide our clients with accurate detailed analysis of the underground asset in question.

SOFTWARE
We use Wincan VX software for data analysis of drainage and sewer networks, this is internationally recognized software throughout the industry, the software makes it easy as a customer to quickly provide our clients with analysis of an asset in a professional and user friendly format.

ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY
Our CCTV survey vans are kitted out professionally using batteries and power inverters to power the specialist survey equipment housed in the van, our newest van had a solar panel fitted to the roof making the van our greenest yet, this ensures noise pollution is at a minimum and communication is at a maximum, which in turn has health and safety benefits, it also means we are being friendly to our environment.

INTRINSICALLY SAFE
PDS uses Proteus CCTV equipment for explosion – fire risk environments, Proteus is an ATEX-rated camera engineered, built and tested for safe use in high risk environments such as zone 2 public sewers which fall under the ‘Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations” (DSEAR). Water companies therefore require that equipment be intrinsically safe (Ex-rated) to avoid a spark which may ignite substances which have found their way into the network.

Drain Cleaning

PDS can provide an extensive range of drain cleaning facilities. Ranging from small jetting machines for domestic blockages, drain cleaning and maintenance programs, up to medium and large combination tankers for larger diameter pipework. Our jetting machines can be used to quickly and efficiently remove stubborn materials such as Roots, Grease, Silt, General debris and Waste that has built up over time. We can search for the blockage using our CCTV equipment to locate exactly where the problem is. This makes the process as quick and undisruptive as possible.

Drain Lining

PDS are able to carry out full length lining and localised patch liners on pipes, drains and sewers. This provides a permanent quality repair in a convenient cost effective way, allowing work to be carried out with minimal disruption and inconvenience to the customer. Using our CCTV systems we can locate any problem areas and ensure that the client is getting a quality job.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

 

FULL LENGTH LINING

A resin impregnated felt is pulled into place and inverted using either water or air. Upon curing, the inversion tube is withdrawn and this creates a pipe within a pipe. If there are any incoming lines these can be exposed using a mechanical cutter.

PATCH LINING

A resin impregnated fibreglass sheet is placed onto an inflatable tube and pushed into place, once the patch is in the desired location the inflatable tube is then blown up and left in situ until resin has cured.

DRAIN TRACING

Should a drain, manhole or specific point need locating PDS have the specialised equipment needed to do this. we can offer a complete drain tracing service with the latest equipment, using our CCTV camera and sonar tracing equipment we can record in detail information on the pipes, their condition, the connections and where they all go, so if you have a connection to make to an existing drain you will know exactly where to dig. Should a drainage system need a connectivity survey PDS can do this using our CCTV unit, sonar tracing equipment, drain dye and on board water tank.

SITE INVESTIGATIONS
Should you require a site investigation prior to any building work, PDS will be able to provide you with full manhole surveys giving you an in-site into manhole use. We can investigate for foul or surface water, the manhole material, manhole size, incoming pipe sizes, pipe material and manhole depth. Along with this investigation work we can provide you with a full pipe condition survey upon request. We will also be able to provide you with a drainage drawing at your discretion.

REPAIRS
Should No Dig Technology not be an option then PDS can offer a service where the damaged pipework in question can be excavated and repaired, we can determine the whereabouts and the nature of almost any issue using our state of the art CCTV equipment and provide a cost effective solution with the least amount of disruption. Most faults can be repaired with a simple lining solution but in the event that lining is not an option to fix the problem sewer or drain, then we can provide a competitive quotation for excavation and repair works.
